Sometimes the original Sit On Top kayak seat is either past its best or somehow not quite up to the comfort level you require. In that case it's time for an aftermarket upgrade like this seat from Seals, designed specifically for Sit On Top kayaks.

It has clips and straps to allow you to secure it in front and behind you to give a secure mount, plenty of back support and some extra padding.

I've used this style before and found them surprisingly comfortable and supportive.
